Project Description

Seas of Emotion

Joan Maggi´s abstracts are numerous, and although they range in size from very small to immense, they all share an equally powerful impact. With her trademark use of vibrant color and the combination of all colors in the spectrum, the depth of the brushstrokes, the relationship between lines and the use of space, Joan Maggi converted the canvas into a sea of movement and emotion.

Each piece is unique, and despite exhibiting the obvious influence of Jackson Pollock, the artist left her unmistakable personal seal. In looking at each abstract we are afforded a brief glimpse of the artist’s feelings and inner struggles at the moment of each piece´s creation, an exhilarating display of the simultaneous confluence of emotions including sadness, confusion, anger and joy. Please enjoy this exhibit of Joan Maggi abstracts.
